LANDSCAPE TEAM

Our Landscape Management team has a over fifteen years of experience in professional landscape maintenance, lawn care, landscape design, irrigation, traditional and organic fertilization. We have in-depth knowledge of common turf problems, such as fungal diseases, weeds and ornamental/lawn pests. Fertilizer and maintenance programs are customized to address specific lawn needs. We keep abreast of the latest research and trends by attending courses at Rutgers University, New Jersey’s premier authority on Landscape Industry Best Practices.

Understanding soil and plant biology enables us to provide recommendations which create beautiful and successful gardens - from the ground up. We excel at creating original designs which are diversified and tailored to your landscape and budget.

About the owner

Lisa Rivera started Blossoming Beginnings in 2009, leaving behind two decades of IT technology and project management expertise in the private sector. Providing a perfect opportunity to flex her entrepreneurial leanings.

Starting a business at a time when the economy is facing a downturn is a daunting and daring task.

But…you only get a few chances in life to pursue a dream. Carpe dieum!

education

Leveraging her business knowledge, love of nature, and armed with excellent tutelage from the esteemed New York Botanical Gardens School of Professional Horticulture and Bergen Community College, she breathed life into her vision and Blossoming Beginnings was born.

It’s probably no small coincidence, that as a child growing up in the Bronx, Lisa spent many days at NYBG. It remains one of her favorite places in the world.

experience

Lisa spent twenty two years in the financial services sector, as a telecommunications professional. Starting at the bottom, she worked her way up from a Switchboard operator to a Telecommunications Project Manager/Engineer managing projects around the globe. A great underpinning for the business acumen and detail orientation she would later need to run her own business.

For thirteen years, Blossoming Beginnings has proudly provided superior landscape maintenance, landscape design services and expert horticultural care for residential and commercial clients throughout Bergen county, NJ. Providing quality maintenance and horticultural services to ensure that your garden is at it’s best - above and below ground. Why? Because landscapes are her passion and labor of love.
